Nov 21, 2019. #1. Hello fellow AVS members. I need some advice on this AV Sony DH790 please. I was oringinally leaning towards the STRDN1080 but then seen the 790. I only need the AV for Movies/Sky only and not for music. From specs they both seem identical and the 1080 is overkill for my needs.The dynamic volume and dynamic EQ sucks. The Sony was so much easier to make sound more pleasing immediately. The Denon room correction was very slow to respond to commands when setting up and then the end result sounded worse than the Sony set up manually. 4K@60Hz is enough for me. You can easily change individual DB levels, manually change speaker distance and cross over frequency all throught the recivers interface. Simply: Press "HOME" button. Select "Speaker Settings".
